More spooky treats! Two different types of sugar cookies this time.
Both cookies use sugar cookie dough, I’m not afraid to admit that I use a mix! Once you have the dough, you’re ready to start.
Skull cookies:
I started with a skull pan I got at Target, you can probably find one on Amazon as well. It works for cookies and cakes!
I filled each skull about 2/3rds of the way and let it bake for the directed time on the bag. Once completely cooled I started with the eyes and nose. I used black frosting in a tube and spread it around each hole with a toothpick.
Next, I prepared the white frosting, I used a can of frosting and warmed it very slightly in a bowl.
I transferred the frosting into a bag to start an outline of the eyes and nose. I tried to be careful not to get white into the black, but I’ll be adding more black later to fix mistakes!
I then used a knife and frosted the rest of the skull, try to be pretty even and get good coverage while maintaining the look of a skull.
Next was the mouth, I used the black frosting tube about and made a line. Then I took a toothpick up and down to make the teeth outlines.
I added a bit more black to the eyes and nose and then spread it around with a toothpick. Then they just need to sit and look amazing. They taste even better!
Ghost cookies:
For these little ghost cookies I used a spiderweb cookie cutter, but any shape will do! I gathered my supplies for everything, the ghosts will be made of marshmallow fluff!
I started with my blank cookies, ready to frost them when completely cooled.
I mixed up some various colors of frosting for the background. You can pick any color you like!
I frosted each cookies and then put colored sugar on each one for a fun decoration. Most color combinations work, you can also use other types of sprinkles.
I put the marshmallow fluff into a bag and carefully put a dollop on each cookie in the middle. Just a little plop on each one! Then I took the black frosting and applied the eyes with a toothpick. I tried using the tube at first but it was too much and kept making the eyes run. So, a toothpick works really well to make the little dots.
And there you have it! Yummy and fun!
