Mini Wands

Sometimes you need magic in your life. And sometimes that magic comes in a very small form, such as a mini wand!

I used ‘fancy’ toothpicks that I found at the grocery store for my craft project. You can also use the regular kind! I gathered the toothpicks and tools I needed, a carving knife and a Dremel. I used the carving knife to cut the toothpick at the end and sharpen it to a slightly less painful point than the original end.

There are a lot of ways you can shape a wand, I sanded with the Dremel a bit to change some of the notches. You can also use various materials. For these mini wands I decided to use embroidery floss. I did some spirals and wrapped around a lot to make a thicker handle. I used craft glue and let it dry.

I did my first layer of paint, this is where you can be very creative! After the top part dried I did the tips.

I did a second round of paint, adding details and covering the floss completely. Always good to do touchups on the first layer as well. Now, these look bigger than they are. Don’t be deceived! They are mini!

I absolutely love these wands and they are very easy!
