I found this amazing oil slick colored unicorn skull at the store At Home. It’s amazing but I wanted to improve it, just for fun and as a nice decoration.
Here is the original skull from the At Home website:
First, I took it apart. Then, I painted gold accents into the cracks, the teeth, and of course the horn. I used acrylic paint and it took a few layers to get a really solid color.
Next, I laid out what I wanted to put on it. There are lots of options for materials you can use. I used crystals and moss. You can also use other stones, artificial flowers, even fake bugs or spiders!
Finally, I used hot glue to attach the decorations after I figured out where I wanted them to go. I started with the crystals and then I used moss to cover the glue and base of the crystals. I’m very happy with how it turned out, because simple little accent changes really made it look fancy to me.
BONUS!
I saw a human skull and decided to repeat this whole project! This time I also used artificial flowers, crystals, and moss. I used gold accents again in the cracks and teeth, then even added some gold accents on one of the flowers.
